SPECIAL PROJECTS ASSISTANT – CABLE TV
Cable TV Division
Wage Range: $18.39 – $23.80 per hour
One 3⁄4-time permanent position available
Hours: 6 hours per day, Monday – Friday (schedule to be determined), and some evening and/or weekend hours

Under general direction, serves as a video field producer and/or host of audio/visual production projects and performs other media functions and general duties. Operates a variety of specialized electronic and video equipment. Performs as facilitator and field producer of City Channel originated video programming. Performs as host of City Channel originated live and pre-recorded video programming. Researches video program topics and conducts interviews. Coordinates and assists in video production including scripting, lighting, production planning, set design, script writing, consultation, and equipment setup and dismantling in a safe manner. Prepares and distributes promotional materials and press releases, PSAs, etc., about projects and programs on the City Channel. Performs public speaking to community groups. Provides input and helps manage the integration of social media as a promotional and/or distribution strategy and the development and use of new technologies, ideas and formats for digital based programming. Schedules the work activities of temporary, work-study, intern and volunteer employees for specific production projects and serves as team leader for on- site and studio video production and post-production. Provides staff assistance to Division units and committees as required. Provides staff assistance to City departments and divisions as required. Performs other duties as required.

Minimum education, experience and certification
An Associate’s degree or equivalent from a DOE recognized accredited school required. Relevant experience in audio/visual production and hosting for television or radio required. Video non-linear post-production experience required. Experience with Internet and computers required. A valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for education/experience requirements. Bachelor’s degree in television, radio or equivalent from a DOE recognized accredited school preferred. Promotion and publicity training or experience highly desired. Experience interacting with community organizations is valuable. Advanced experience with video production, video post-production, Internet, computers and computer databases preferred.
