Geneva - Emerging Adults

The Geneva Lecture Series presents Dr. Christian Smith, William R. Kenan, Jr. Professor of Sociology and Director of the Center for the Study of Religion and Society at the University of Notre Dame, who lectures based on his book, 'Souls in Transition: The Cultural and Spiritual Lives of Emerging Adults.' What are the lives of 18-23 year-olds in the U.S. like, especially when it comes to their religious and spiritual faith and practices? How does life during this phase of the life course transitioning from the teenage to the adult years affect religion and spirituality? This lecture reports findings from the National Study of Youth and Religion, a major study of U.S. youth as they grow up from the teenage to the emerging adult years.
